Having an HDL over the mark is a good thing. The higher the HDL the better. Is he/she complaining about it being too low? We could get into a discussion on cholesterol and its variants, but it would just confuse people. It even confuses many doctors.Dunno. This is my first round at being 75 years old so I’m not sure if whatever ailments I might have are par for the course or actual problems.
Seriously though, I have a reoccurring bunion on my foot and I take a blood pressure med and other than the doctor harping about my HDL being over the mark, I’m good to go.
And…..to be sure, I have a better muscular build now than I had 40 years ago.
Good lord man, that brings tears to my old eyes. I was going to ask if you still played any classical style guitar, but with all those medical problems, I now understand your title, Blues Rocker. I once envisioned you like Stevie Ray Vaughn playing Texas Flood, but now I hear that Coffin Sound and see you rocking out in a rocking chair playing ....... See That My Grave Is Kept Clean Blind Lemon JeffersonI have Cervical Stenosis and Myelopathy, Lumbar Myelopathy, Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disk Disease, severe COPD, long Covid, Type 2 Diabetes, Arthritis in my hands and arms, Neuropathy in my feet and High Blood Pressure. I'm a Colon Cancer survivor, and my Doc says I'm showing signs of Dementia. I told him if I ever start saying things like inject bleach to cure Covid, just take me away to the funny farm, where life is beautiful all the time...
@Axel Slingerland you could try taking Alpha Lipoprotein for the neuropathy. There is an OTC brand called Nervine but you can buy the generic stuff off Amazon or in your local store. It is a mitochondrial nutrient that helps neuropathy and is said to reduce your A1c. I don't know if it could help your myelopathy as well or not. Start at 1200 mgs per day and work up if you get not relief. Don't take more than 2400 mgs daily without consulting a health practitioner.I have Cervical Stenosis and Myelopathy, Lumbar Myelopathy, Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disk Disease, severe COPD, long Covid, Type 2 Diabetes, Arthritis in my hands and arms, Neuropathy in my feet and High Blood Pressure. Praying that your biopsy comes out negative. I have a similar benign brain tumor and have since birth. It hasn't been a problem. At 81 I have my share of health problems. March fourteenth I went for a biopsy for prostate cancer, I have an appointment this thursday to get the results.
In the 70s, I fell off A roof broke my right elbow, Had surgery And have limited use
Of my right arm.
I have spinals Stenosis, in my lower back,
It limits my walking and physical activities.
I have a brain tumor near the pituitary gland, that's benign and inactive for now.
I have restricted breathing from an accident with Insectiside, I use an inhaler on occasion.
The good news is i'm still kicking, The bad news I can't do what I did when I was younger, And that can be frustrating. So I've learned to adjust Is enjoy what I can do.
Did you have shingles? Ever any imbalance? My TN has worsened and the left side of my face is semi numb. I also have Peripheral Neuropathy that resulted from the shingles as did the TN. My balance is slightly worsen but I haven't had rotary vertigo for 15 years. At 72, I have Trigeminal neuralgia, Peripheral neuropathy, and Lymphocytic Colitis. Everyday until I die I get these things to deal with all day. Then there is the regular ding and the dang that hits you upside the head. On the whole life has become very different that when I was well. A new chapter...more like a new book.![]()
Well, no... The reason I have a lot of these health problems is from being a guitarist in a working band, not the other way around. I learned the blues from my Dad 60 years ago. But if you go by the traditional description of a "Bluesman", I don't qualify. I have never lived the blues in that sense. Yes, I've had some hard times in my life, but as they said in Monty Python and the Holy Grail... "I'm not quite dead yet!" Yes, arthritis messed up my guitar playing, but that was over 50 years after I hit the road with my band. But I'm still alive and kickin'.Good lord man, that brings tears to my old eyes. I have a few health problems, they are:
Fibromyalgia
Anxiety
Depression
Hiatal Hernia
All long-term.
A Hiatal Hernia can be repaired but unless it is causing serious problems or is cancerous, it isn't advised. Such a surgery has at least 3 months using a feeding tube. There is usually a 6 months healing time. The repair surgery isn't always successful.Could you not get the Hiatal Hernia removed?

Yeah, That hit me funny. My first thought for an answer was "I'm Old!" Most of my problems are my own fault. But if I didn't do any of the stuff, in my younger days, I would not have had much of a life.Dunno. The uptick of telling yourself that you’re old now is that if we live another day we’re not as old now as we will be then ergo I’m “younger” than I will be tomorrow.Yeah, That hit me funny.
