Climbing a mountain

Beautiful! ^^^^^^^^

My Grandfather was a rescue climber in the Grand Tetons in the 1960s. When I was about 25 or so (I don't remember exactly when), he took me with him and we climbed the Grand Teton via the Owen-Spalding Route. It was hardly like climbing in the traditional sense, we didn't use any of the normal climbing gear, since I wouldn't know what to do with most of it anyway. What we did was more like free hand bouldering or rock climbing. He said we could do it in a day, but we camped about 1/3 of the way down after we reached the summit. That night was crystal clear, moderate winds, about 50°, and seriously dark. I saw so many more stars that night than anywhere I had ever been before.

I have never climbed a mountain myself but I have heard from those who have and they say it is an amazing experience :)

Snowdon does look beautiful :)

Since I was raised in Stone Mountain Geogia, I climbed this mountain many times. Climbed a couple others in the southern states. It has a train that travels around it, Amusement park, and beautiful scenery.
It is the largest piece of solid granite on earth, two thirds of it is underground.
Because of the 3 Southern Generals on the carving, it is now considered racist, some want the carving blown off.
I never met a racist person there, guess somebody did.
