Biden was investigating Newsom???

It was announced that the Biden Justice Department was investigating Newsom's Chief of Staff for corruption. That was found among the records that the Trump Justice Department is poring through. I wonder what the basis of that is? When asked about it, Caroline Leavitt said she would ask Bondi if the Justice Department intended to continue the investigation. Perhaps Newsom was seen as a threat to Biden if he tried to run for a second term or maybe try to primary Kamala if she ever ran in a primary. The reason the Democratic hierarchy pushed Kamala into the candidacy foregoing the primaries for that very reason?

The MSM is trying to make this look like it is Trump who started this investigation, but impartial sources say that the investigation began under Biden.

I have not heard about this, but what you are saying makes perfect sense, @Don Alaska . Newsom was talking about running back when Biden was in office, so they were probably prepared to attack and demolish his chances if need be.
It is also kind of strange that right after Senator Fetterman spoke out about how vicious the Democrats attack on him about the shutdown, he had heart issues and is now in the hospital.
The people I have seen sending prayers and get well wishes for Fetterman have all been Republican or independents so far, so his own party does not seem to be supporting him at all now. I would not be surprised to see him change over in the near future.

The investigation centered around Newsom's Chief of Staff, but the Biden DOJ was looking into links to Newsom as well, but those have not been released and the woman was fired when Newsom was contacted so links to the Governor may not amount to anything, but still...Biden investigating anyone for corruption is in itself quite laughable.

Just for clarification, "Newsom" and "Newsom's Chief of Staff" are not the same person. It would have thought that anyone with a fraction of a brain would know that. Besides, how many of Trump staffers are believed to be corrupt? Many vs. one...

That is true, but Garland was questioning Newsom about the issue. What was said and what was alleged have not been made public, but the Chief of Staff was terminated shortly after.
