For four years June has been changed into a veritable festival of strange celebrations. Strange at least to those from a more traditionally American culture.
This year things feel different. Much of it seems to have retreated to odd corners of the country.
I have to admit I was never much of a fan of Reagan, his policies, and the tone of the Reagan Years. Looking back, it feels quite regressive and mean, saber rattling and corrupt, and not at all beneficial toward working and lower middle class folks. Basically setting the stage for both the Clintons and the "Romneycrat" Republican establishment. I'll credit his time with ending the Cold War, but I was very disappointed that the "peace dividend" never turned into benefits for the bulk of taxpayers.
So I think these young women in this video have a distorted picture of those times, and it pains me to see them give undo credit to them. But the discussion here seems very refreshing otherwise, like a return to normality.
Ladies reading this:
Watching the video, at least the 5 minutes or so at the start... what is your take on this group and its interaction there? Does it feel more like normal female interaction from your young adult years? Or is this just how I imagined women used to feel about motherhood and child rearing? It feels so positive to me.
And what about the content here? Do you feel some hope that fringe behaviors have started to move back to the fringes of society rather than constantly being in your face?
