I would like to say thank you to all those who have stayed active and helped build DiscussionHQ what it is today.
I am wanting to give back to you guys to show my appreciation but I am thinking what it could be. :D

DiscussionHQ is getting advertised on the internet I am looking into getting an expert in SEO to help with getting more members.
Invite your family and friends.

Would making a Facebook page help with advertising?

Congratulations on all the posts and threads here, @Smithy ! You do a wonderful job of taking care of this forum, and also of listening to what people would like to have on the forum.

One suggestion that has helped us on our senior forum is making interesting titles, and always having the title talk about what the actual thread is about. Many times, people want to use a “clickbait” type of title, like “guess what I saw today”, so that people will read the post to see what the thread is about.
This is the very WORST thing for good SEO.

A title should tell what the thread is about, something like “Niacin helps your heart work better”, as an example. People searching for some information about their heart or about taking a niacin supplement will be referred to this forum to read the post.
A title like “what did you eat for dinner” is not going to get much traction in the search engines. And often those types of titles do not lead to very interesting threads, and end up more like trivia threads, with 3-4 word answers, also not helping.
A good forum should have actual conversation and information about the topic that a search engine can pick up.

Threads about something in the news, and about health, the economy, and other things that people are researching will help your SEO intensively, and you might have to look at the thread titles and see if they need to be re-named . (I would be happy to help with this if you want).
I often had to read through an opening post in our senior forum when I was a mod there, and then find out what the actual thread was about and re-title it so we had better SEO results.
