What are you doing right now?

Just shoveled after the plow came by, then dragged the trash bin in from the curb. Brushed snow off a solar panel. Put some salt on a bit of ice. "Pure Magnesium Chloride, Safer for Pets, Concrete."

    Tesla recalls

Many cars today come with a variety of "driving assistance" tools. Many help you stay in your lane, others can help avoid rear-ending the car ahead if it slows or stops abruptly. Blind-spot alerting, etc. etc. even down to displaying the current speed limit on the dash and detecting a drowsy driver.

Are we now at de facto war with the EU too?

Sorry George, but I thought you couldn't breathe. :ROFLMAO:

    What's your Weather like today

Getting light fluffy snow now, from an inch to 3 expected. Then it warms and tonight we get 2 to 6 inches of heavy wet stuff. Bleh.

What are you listening to right now?

Could be my daughter-in-law talking about my retirement savings:

Are we now at de facto war with the EU too?

I suspect that the veneer that covers who is running the EU and UK is beginning to wear thin. You can see it in how they are treating their people and faking, postponing, jiggering elections. Even committing energy-suicide through policies and ongoing wars with sources of supply. I heard they...

    Christmas decorations

Took the trash out to the curb. Brr, 5 F out there and clear skies. Late enough already that my white year-round solar lights have already petered out, but my Xmas string is still at it for a little while. If I feel ambitious I might go out for a bit after 1 AM. We're supposed to have an Aurora...

    Let's See Some Funny Cartoons

Some say they don't have vivid dreams. Watching this might help get you started:

What are you listening to right now?

We used to play this old 78 RPM record.

    What's your Weather like today

Daylight dragging its feet here, but we've risen from 5F to around 8.

    Electric Vehicles Pay-Per-Mile (UK)

I routinely get 40 MPG in my non-hybrid Civic, 35 during Winter cold. A larger vehicle like a Camry or even larger would be expected to get proportionately less. I bought a Civic Hybrid in 2002, and that got 45 to 48 routinely around town. Long trips with more highway miles, especially old...

Minneapolis police chief tells his officers that they have a duty to obstruct ICE

I just can't imagine this behavior is sustainable. How many people who get screwed over there can they keep shut up?

    Pizza toppings

Not sure where this is a cooking idea, new pizza joint ad campaign, or attempted comedy:

    Electric Vehicles Pay-Per-Mile (UK)

PHEVs have all of the expenses and issues of both gasoline cars and EVs. To be practical they have to have a large battery, and it generally ends up underslung like a BEV. And you need the charging support to take any advantage of it. A normal HEV on the other hand has a far smaller battery...

    What's your Weather like today

Silly people. You can do plenty using solar-powered lights, and far more elaborate than my cheap and minimal-effort ones. This was long-exposure and my hands were shaky. I should try a tripod some night. The "smoky clouds" are snow on the branches, enhanced by my shaking. The white lights below...

    What's your Weather like today

Cleared it up, now they say within 2 hours more snow. :ROFLMAO: Oh well. Snowblower is in the sunlight to let the snow melt off after brushing it a bit. I'll probably cover it again before the new snow comes. Might need a shot or two of lube to help avoid freeze-up. Oops, I need to get out and...

    What's your Weather like today

Clearing after snowfall. I've gotton most of 4 inches of new snow cleared off, now the sun is actually coming out. That probably means a further drop from 25F but perhaps it'll actually warm first. I'll have to get out there again, and probably clear some of the road out front to prevent...

    Electric Vehicles Pay-Per-Mile (UK)

Well, these were mostly 2nd or 3rd or 4th cars for upper-middle class households. Why should they pay their share? :ROFLMAO: Of course they were peddled to everyone with vacuous promises of virtue and economy. Turned out, neither was true. As soon as taxpayer subsidy of BEV and PHEV sales...

What video are you watching on YouTube?

Rich nerd with an ongoing obsession with lighting, especially Christmas lights. He makes good points though. It has been funny to watch him gritting his teeth over the years. He now feels makers and sellers are starting to get the point. Basically, he felt that "modern" Christmas lights...

    Charities

"Pets" tend to be freakish, crude eugenics efforts by puppy mills and such to create dwarves, either aggression or passivity, pink-fur, or whatever abomination can be readily marketed. Often inbreeding reinforces defects that can result in misery for the poor creatures, especially as they age...
