That's the Way It Crumbles, Cookie-Wise

When I turned on the water to the sink there was a leak, so I made a flowchart to help solve the problem. :) Spent several hours looking for all the tools and stuff that might be needed. But I digress... Long story short, it wasn't any of the new plumbing. It was just a very loose nut...

(7/11/26) The sink is all plumbed in. Glued the pipes & fittings together last night and attached the faucet & drain this morning. It wasn't too bad. One stupid mistake. I marked exactly how everything should line up carefully with a permanent marker. Then when it came time to start, I...

Changed my mind. No little birds in the trees, only in the birdhouse this morning. They are so sneaky. Sometimes they will take off from the deck in the opposite direction. Then double back to the birdhouse. No more speculations.

(7/10/26) These 2 bluebirds fooled me again. I thought they either gave up on a 3rd nest, or went back to their first home, wherever that was. Nope. Just noticed them 3 days ago for the first time. This pair is so deceptive (a good thing). From the feeding frequency there must be more than...

Yes. Both are required by code. The old setup had neither, in addition to an illegal S-trap. I'm sensitive about being up to code, because I don't know what I'm doing, and don't want it to be obvious if I ever have to call a plumber. He might call the plumbing police. LOL I got tired of...

You have to use your imagination. ;) That was just the layout of the fittings in order. They have to be connected by little chunks of pipe. The ruler is the floor of the vanity. How about this?

What are you listening to right now?

I Put a Spell on You This song was written and first released by Screamin' Jay Hawkings in 1956. John Fogerty and CCR took it to a new level. This video shows footage of their Woodstock performance superimposed on the LP version of the song. ❤️

I'm going to glue together all the new fittings in this bathroom sink drain, except where the tailpiece of the faucet connects. It may cause trouble down the road, but I like puzzles. I don't like the cheap plastic screw together slip joints. I had to take apart a sink drain to retrieve a...

What's the Best Thing that Happened to You in the Last 24 Hours?

They repainted the yellow lines on the curbs out front showing where you aren't supposed to park. They do this about every 5 years. How did they manage to find a time when there weren't any cars parked along the curbs?:confused: It's beautiful! :)

    HQ Dispatch Satchel

I knew I heard that before. It is adapted from the song American Patrol (1885). I think our old player piano came with that roll. :)

    TONY' THOUGHT JOURNAL 2.0

Hey @Tony Page ! I watched the July 4th fireworks display in New York City last night and thought of you. It was very impressive. Were you able see any of it from where you live?

Are there any movies you think are overrated?

Citizen Kane (1941) Orson Welles, Joseph Cotton. This movie was rated the best all-time movie ever for many years. Still in the top 10. I've tried to watch it many times but could never get all the way through it, even tried starting in the middle. Is this an example of confirmation bias...

I think we're in that period right now with Google a.i. where they are trying to get you hooked on it. Remember how LED light bulbs used to last a long time? Now that most people have converted to them, they don't. Once folks get used to searching through a.i. it will likely start to feature...
