I miss the aroma of roses. The newer types have had the smell bred out of them.My old -fashioned rose bush blooming in the spring. This one has an awesome fragrance.

For just one moment....
Ok. That changes where I will plant it. Thank you. Hope they are as hardy as they say. We had bad Japanese beetles last year but this year--no bugs. They bloom all summer, @Mary Stetler , except if the weather is really hot, and then they seem to stop blooming, just like some of the other plants do. Tomatoes don’t bloom when it gets too hot either.
But as it cools down towards fall, then they start blooming again. The regular knockout roses will get around 5-6 feet tall, and the Drift roses stay close to the ground , but spread out in a large mound.
In this picture, you can see my Pink Drift knockout rose, and behind it is one of the taller red Knockout roses. The ground goes down a lot right here by the driveway, so the red rose is actually a lot further down , making it look shorter than it actually is.

Wow! Here we have to wait till almost fall.
When I was growing up, my mother had flowers all over the whole yard, and there was a lot of peonies. They always bloomed by Memorial Day, and we lived in Sandpoint, Idaho, which is around 50 miles south of Canada. If you do not even have buds by now, @Jacob Petersheim , I think your peonies are not blooming this year for some reason. My son's wife has posted peonies on FB, but mine don't even have flower buds and they only live about 40 miles south of me.
Last year they flowered, but some sort of leaf fungus or something got to them. This year they seem green and clean, but not as strong growth as in the past. Part of this might be large tree growth here, casting a lot more shade most of the day.
I have a pink flowering dogwood that hasn't bloomed in several years, probably for the same reason. However it seems to have reached a height now where it can get more light. Looks spindly near ground level but fans out at the top and has some solid foliage this year.
