Got a message from SIL (wife's older sister) last night stating that the family who is living in her condo wants to buy a house, not her condo. They have been renting it and that money is what she is using to pay for her expensive 2-bedroom apartment at a "all bills paid for" senior complex. However, just like when she lived in her condo, she gets very bored easily. Anyway, she wanted to know if we wanted to move back to So California and rent her condo. This is the second time she has requested/asked that. The first time was when we were living in Colorado and wanting to get out of the winters there. We told her "no thanks" then and my wife told her the same last night. My wife absolutely doesn't want to move back to So. California. She loves her older sister, but..........(you get what I mean, I hope). We left So. California in May of 2002 and haven't returned, not even for a visit to see my wife's family. We both agree, "we just don't want to go back."

Family is always interesting for sure. Sometimes a little distance keeps everyone happier. Surely, we all have those situations.

Also, it doesn't seem like a good time to move back to California for financial reasons, if no other. Most people are going the other direction from what I hear.

Are you still planning to move or is that postponed?
We definitely want to move, but that just depends on how long my treatments will be. Right now we are living below a mother and her 2 year old that moved in around Thanksgiving. The 76 year old that lived above us was very quiet, but moved out due to family situation. The mother of the 2 year old doesn't seem to care that someone lives below her. The child runs back and forth across their floor/our ceiling and jumps up and down. Don't know if I can handle all of that noise when I'm having treatment, but might have to.

We got a lease renewal last week. Our lease ends in June and the shortest renewal we can get is 6 months, but we can't move in the middle of the winter in northern Nevada. So, that would mean we'd have to endure another hot summer here and the noise above us. Neither of us want that, but...........

Let's put it this way, we've encountered too much noise from neighbors at apartment complexes as well as the house we were buying in Colorado. In Colorado, it was two dogs barking in the middle of the night as well as two large Woods Owls hooting on the roof of the house behind us at 2AM. Heck, even when we lived in a "bungalow" type apartment (nobody above us and the apartment was at the end of the building, we had noise problems from barking dogs and people talking on their patio like it was 2PM in the afternoon and it was 1AM in the morning.

Anyway, back to "Family". LOL

Faye, some kind of change with our upstairs neighbor, the one with the cute 2-year old: We noticed her car has been gone. She isn't on vacation, because we've seen her walk, with her daughter in-hand, at 6:30AM to our main gate pedestrian in/out gate. She must be taking her daughter to a babysitter somewhere close to our apartment complex and then going to work at the bread manufacturing company across the street from our apt. complex. The lady that was taking care of the little girl during the day, has been leaving in the AM as well to go to work or something. So, currently, no noise at all above us, because nobody is there.

So, if this continues, we really won't have a problem, except for the high summer heat coming, on signing another Lease for a year. With my health problems, we simply don't have the time to set up things to move up north (Reno/Ferney/Fallon) area this June.
