That's the Way It Crumbles, Cookie-Wise

I think this is the frame for a trundle bed that slides under a regular bed or a couch. Has collapsible legs and wheels. I have no idea where it came from. If it were deconstructed I believe the sides would make 4 beautiful 1" x 6" boards.

The hooked rod to the left has always been a mystery. It's at least 50 years old, probably much older. Even a.i. can't come up with anything plausible, but gives a good try.

The days are all running together.

The trailer was half loaded with stuff when the owner needed it for another job. It came back the same day empty. First to go in 2nd time were left over holly bushes and clippings from the hedge behind the house.

Next were 8 big heavy items to squash the foliage down. Two of them I managed to lift in. Two had to be dismantled into smaller pieces first. The other 4 I had to give up on. Ready for the medium sized junk that will fill in the gaps. Momentum is back. Should finish tomorrow.

Sprayed the gravel turnaround, and vines that were under the hollies, with Round-Up. Mowed the front and back lawn and string trimmed. Found a storm door closer I misplaced years ago and installed it on the door that goes down to the basement.

I didn't count on rain yesterday. Deadline moved to tomorrow.

There was good reason to save sawdust swept up from the table saw. I had about 5 cubic feet of it. It satisfies the landfill requirement to soak up wet paint before throwing it in the trash. I got rid of 8 one-gallon, and 4 one-pint, cans of old paint.

They used to use scented sawdust in elementary schools to soak up accidents in the hallways. I also used it to soak water out of the concrete floor when the basement flooded one year.

I've heard of using a cheap kitty litter for that purpose.

Yeah, I had a small bag of unopened cat litter, but wanted to get rid of the sawdust.

The trailer is as full as I think it should be of heavy things. They might slide out, because the back is not that tall. There is piece of foam, from an old foldable cot that is going on top of everything (or maybe it belongs to the trundle bed frame ). Then a mesh fabric on a roller covers it all. I'm done with it.

They probably will cover the trailer before they take it away.

Yes, there is a roll of mesh like fabric on the front of the trailer that you roll out over the top and fasten in the back. I guess the mesh is so it doesn't catch air like a solid tarp would while on the road.

I could trim the last bit of hedge on the other side of the front yard. It would be safe to pile that on top, because it wouldn't slide or be heavy. Not in the mood right now. Maybe this evening.

There is still a lot of junk in the basement. Small stuff that could go in the weekly trash. Time-consuming.

One of the things in the basement I should get rid of is an old ice box. I found it sitting next to a dumpster in a parking lot just about the time I retired. It is in decent shape. Never painted or varnished. I thought it would be fun to repair it, put a nice clear poly coating on it, and use it as a cabinet. The tag says

It is really heavy. I'd say well over 100 pounds. It has heavy insulation in the walls that could be removed to take some of the weight off. This is what it would look like new.
