Well, my daughter's phone was out. That is how she gets internet .Woke up this morning to find out there had been another power outage overnight. Both pc's shut down. Boot up. Everything is ok for an hour or so, then no internet service. Checked everything. An hour or so after that I get a cell phone text message from AT&T asking if I want them to run a test. Ran the test. Everything is working again, so far. This is getting weird.
At least the satellite TV is still working. If I had switched to streaming TV, I might have had to do something useful today.
Edit to add... A previous text message I didn't notice said there was an internet outage in this area. But both pcs had shut down so it must have also been a power outage. Probably another tree problem.![]()
My phone was out too with a different provider. (No reason given) I have a lined phone but that is with my internet provider. I kind of wish I had not moved from AT&T but I only had local service with my cell as a back up and they kept upping the price (probably to get me off the old line ; )
It is like in the disaster movies where the satellites go down and only the old technology phones are working. Finding one at this point would be harder than 20 years ago. No one knows anyone's phone numbers any more. No more phone books... would probably take me 20 minutes to get to the farm after an EMP instead of 5 minutes. These little interruptions make me aware of different types of preparedness.
I keep remembering a guy at the battery store who brought in his phone for repair and they said they would have to send it out and it might be back next week. He practically threw a temper tantrum on the floor!
