What's bothering you right now?

Oh, more attitudes and incompetence @Yvonne Smith

Last September I was hit up for $2K "to make payroll." Now I find my DIL has a huge trip to Disney World planned soon. That, and hearing BS from her about a wish to move to Costa Rica because "we don't want to end up in concentration camps." All that as I squinted to avoid seeing her (literal) blue hair.

Her idea of hosting a Christmas dinner was a couple of take-out pizzas.

To be selfish, part of my feelings might be because I almost literally killed myself driving there and back home. This thing with cataracts or whatever it is gets really bad after dark. I should be glad that the two times I drover up over curbs turning was where there wasn't any traffic. 70 mile round-trip.

I won't mention snide remarks about the gifts I gave them.

Sounds like you need a good movie to cheer you up.
Have you seen this one, reminds me of some of our pass Xmases'.

Well, something has been off in the barn the last couple of weeks. Things turned over. Yesterday everything seemed to be knocked over and today a lot of feathers were pulled from one of hens. Someone was digging a hole under the hay and it was ocassionally bigger. I though it was a chipmunk coming out of hybernation. But nuts kept being expelled. I thought maybe a small woodchuck? or a rat? But with the feathers I think maybe a mink or weasel. He probably finished orff the chipmunks in the hay and now wants something for Christmas dinner. I set a trap out for veggie eaters. Today, much meatier fare.
I'm searching online for an item that costs about $100. I really do use customer reviews, but mainly to point out things I wouldn't have thought of---both good and bad. On some websites I notice almost all of the 5-star reviews of this particular item are from people who received the item free as a promotion.

Many post pictures, but just of the box it came in, not opened. I've even seen a few take stock photos from the internet implying it is their installation. Then you find several of these items for sale on eBay for a slightly reduced price. I understand it, but it definitely bothers me. :(
I usually look to the lowest reviews first, the number, the year they were given...

Mary our yard has lots of little mounds now too.

I vote for a small weasel, perhaps an ermine if you have them there. They are notoriously difficult to trap, however. Good luck @Mary Stetler. Ermine will take your eggs and occasionally kill a chicken but that is rare. You will find broken empty eggs though.

I felt badly that my barn cat killed a small ermine one year. He also killed larger weasels that had killed two of my chickens a few years ago. I was told cats can't take down larger weasels but no one told my cat. Bonneroo is in the house now. He is too old and bony to go back to the barn, it seems. But I sure wish he would come back with me for just two days. Not sure where I will find the perfect barn cat again.

I've been suspicious for a while now based on feelings from posts on Facebook, but one of my sisters texted me last night that my remaining brother's wife left him a year ago and now their divorce is final.

I don't pry and know nothing of the circumstances. Seems like one hell of an age to find oneself suddenly alone though. I know how much it ate me up when it happened to me 30 years ago.

Honestly, pretty much everything is bothering me right now! I'm a very anxious person, and my mental health has been on a downswing recently.

Hopefully you get better soon, do you take any medication to help support with mood swings etc.

Thank you! I have tried numerous medications in the past, but I stopped all of them. I was on one particular medication that really turned me into a zombie. I think that medication can really work for some people, but I've had horrible experiences.

Have you tried any sort of meditation?

Not really. Have you found it to be effective?
It helps many and probably helped me earlier in life. You can probably find videos on line that will teach techniques. You need to find a quiet place with no distractions, at least at the beginning. It costs nothing to try it.

Nothing is bothering me, yet, hope it stays this way for a while.
Of course I'm steal healing from the squat exercising, although it is better than it was.
