What's bothering you right now?

I haven't been sleeping too well lately.

I am the same.
It's now 3:56 AM and I can't sleep.

I always wake up at a certain time of night and struggle getting back to sleep then I am tired throughout the day.

I use a lidocaine patch but it says to use one a day. I use two if I need them although I would like to wrap my whole leg.
I forgot to mention that my Doc up in Eureka said I could use three a day, and long as they were all in the same 12 hours. I never did those because those things made me itch like crazy.

Ordering cologne and finding out " again " it is not the same! I just opened a new one 'Dolly', as soon as I saw the color of it I knew I got ripped off again.
Dolly sure isn't one of the best but it was ok. Last time I bought one of the less expensive ones 'Channel Number 5 it cost over $200 an once, that was maybe 50 years ago.
I liked White Shoulders, then Passion, those were highjacked in a matter of a couple years.
Maybe I'll just make my own with a couple spices!
So much change, so little patience. I went into a tantrum and Jake said," I'm discussing with Don right now", lol

Got my last income statements for 2025, my December money deposited, and my Winter property tax bill. So even before Christmas, tax return figures are on my mind.

One of the things I had never projected was how much retirement income incurs tax liabilities. Medicare Parts B and D have tax-related time bombs waiting to explode, for example. That can be triggered by a lot of things: selling out to downsize your home, taking money from the 401(k)s, IRAs, or other invested income you put aside for decades, etc.

Pretty sad when what you scrimped to save can lose 28% off the top!

But what can you do but pull up your socks and be glad you don't live in a cardboard box beneath some bridge?

Oh, more attitudes and incompetence @Yvonne Smith

Last September I was hit up for $2K "to make payroll." Now I find my DIL has a huge trip to Disney World planned soon. That, and hearing BS from her about a wish to move to Costa Rica because "we don't want to end up in concentration camps." All that as I squinted to avoid seeing her (literal) blue hair.

Her idea of hosting a Christmas dinner was a couple of take-out pizzas.

To be selfish, part of my feelings might be because I almost literally killed myself driving there and back home. This thing with cataracts or whatever it is gets really bad after dark. I should be glad that the two times I drover up over curbs turning was where there wasn't any traffic. 70 mile round-trip.

I won't mention snide remarks about the gifts I gave them.

Oh, WOW, that does NOT sound like a fun day at all, Jacob ! ! It is hard when people are so indoctrinated with the woke virus and do not want to even try to see if maybe they are being told lies.
There is just not much you can do about it, sadly. Hopefully, she is not expecting you to finance the Disney World trip, too. Or maybe, you already did when you helped out in September ?

Both Bobby and I have more trouble seeing after dark, so we do not travel late in the afternoon unless it is an absolute necessity.
In fact, we do not like driving in traffic either, so we try to schedule any appointments somewhere between 10-2, so we miss most of the worktime traffic as well as not being out in the dark.
I think the vitamin A does help with the night vision, but not enough that I want to drive at night if I can avoid it. And the cataracts would add to the whole thing.
The eyeglass place put a special coating on my new glasses that helps to cut down on glare, so when you get new glasses, you might ask about that. It was all covered with my advantage plan.

I'll see when I go in for my evaluation. Last Summer the optometrist said she couldn't do anything for me with glasses and gave me the referral to a specialist. They also do glasses there, so maybe I can get something helpful until I'm willing to commit to surgery.

I took back roads heading down there, freeway coming back. Barreling along at 70 in the dark and then dealing with multilane interchanges wasn't fun. I have never felt dependent before and night riving or even complex traffic hasn't bothered me. This has come on fairly suddenly in the last year and I'm still coming to terms with it.

My grandson also worries me. at 3 1/2 his development isn't... right. She had no business having a kid at her age, and her infertility should have been a clear warning. He has trouble with one leg and foot (mostly "corrected") but mentally - ouch. "Autism" is one word for it. Yeah. Very good with things like numbers and letters and that sort of thing, and anything tightly associated with it. But his speech and human interaction is severely stunted and he has trouble even watching a kids' movie without becoming bored and going off to fiddle with a letter/number based puzzle or something. More like a crow than a human being. Even the yippy dog they have now avoids him as he's furniture and non-interactive. And this is a dog that will keep bringing its toys to you, tussling with you until you pull the toy away and toss it. Then brings it back for more.

The development pattern is unlike anything I saw with my 3 boys, 2 brothers and 4 sisters, cousins, or nieces and nephews. Perhaps that what bothers me. They think he's "bright" but I'm not convinced this is one who will ever be able to live on his own. I feel so bad for him.

Whinge, whinge... :ROFLMAO:

This dumbassed Disney World (plus) trip? Beside my little grandson, his somewhat younger (more normally developed) cousin are the only kids. The rest are the parents and my Ex and her husband. I'll bet the old folks end up watching the kids most of the time, being too darned little to get anything out of the parks anyway. So.... smells entirely selfish to me.

I try to put my DIL out of mind most of the time. Her insane leftist Facebook rants make it a little tougher.

I'm searching online for an item that costs about $100. I really do use customer reviews, but mainly to point out things I wouldn't have thought of---both good and bad. On some websites I notice almost all of the 5-star reviews of this particular item are from people who received the item free as a promotion.

Many post pictures, but just of the box it came in, not opened. I've even seen a few take stock photos from the internet implying it is their installation. Then you find several of these items for sale on eBay for a slightly reduced price. I understand it, but it definitely bothers me. :(

I agree, @Nancy Hart . I think some places reject any reviews that are not top star, so it is hard to tell. The ones that are helpful is when they do put in good information about the pros and cons of the item. I also look for YouTube videos from someone who is using the item i am interested in. Just watching someone use it can help me decide if it will be easy or hard for me to do, and if it will actually do what I want it to do.

I have had at least two reviews rejected because they were low or bad. At least there were two that told me they were rejecting my reviews. I don't often review products as poor, but two that I did give poor reviews were refused. That let me know that reviews on the products I purchased in part because of past good reviews were scams.

Cindy told me something similar once, and I told her "You don't need that stuff. Anyone that really cares about you will see past the makeup and perfume." 🧋

Axel, I gave up or lost everything else by being old, I'm not giving up my lipstick or cheap cologne.
It makes me feel good to try and look presentable, not good and hopefully not like I tried and couldn't.
