Recurrent Dreams

No but I did do a lot of walking in my sleep and dove out a few closed windows!
I saw a movie as a child at the dive in theatre about a Premature Burial and it gave me nightmares and put my sleep walking in gear for next 25 years.
I once dove thru a window upstairs and landed on the edge of the roof over the street. We didn't have ac in our apt. back in the early 70s so sleeping in underclothes was common.
I woke up a few blocks from the house in my bra and panties, I guess I don't have to tell you how fast I made it home. I was also worrying about my 3 toddlers home alone.

Oh my goodness! What caused it to stop? A particular event, or just gradually?

Nancy, I wonder the same thing. I think it stopped in the early 1980s in my 30s. My mother would really get upset if I lived above the ground floor. Somebody was always locking me in in my dreams so the window was the only way out.

I do not usually have the exact same dream over and over, but very similar ones. I am always moving into a new house, or out of an old house, and packing stuff to move in the dreams.
There are even houses that are not real, but are constant in my dreams.
One is on a steep hillside, so I have to pack the boxes up the hill when I am moving in to that house, and down the hill when I am moving out. And I recognize them, in some way and think to myself, this is that house that I just moved out of a while back and now I am moving back into it again.

My favorite was an old house that stood in the middle of downtown Sandpoint (where i grew up) and there was never ever a house there, just businesses, but in my dreams, there it is.
It is a magnificent old mansion type of house, and beautiful antique furniture, all on the main floor. But when you go upstairs (it is 3 stories tall), it turns into a dilapidated house with cobwebs all over and rickety stairs and I get lost on those stairs.

That's interesting. Yvonne. My second recurrent dream was similar to yours. I had just bought a house. It was very old. It had 3 stories. The top floor was one room. Everyone said the 3rd floor was in terrible shape, but I bought it anyway without even looking. In some dreams I would never go up and look at the 3rd floor and in others, I did. It was unfinished. No paint on the walls. The floorboards had rotted out, the roof had holes in it and the windows were all broken. When I tried to walk into the room, the whole house would shake like it was going to fall down.

So your dream home became a bit of a nightmare?
