PhpBB can come close with premium mods from CanIDev. I am considering getting some soon.I have used PhpBB, MyBB, and SMF and based on my experience the only free forum that can actually compete with a premium software is none other than SMF
I don't see much wrong with it, other than with MyAlerts, but that's the most vital mod.MyBB is defiantly the best free forum software but it seems as though the developers have slowly departed?
It’s also not optimized well for mobile. I helped managed a forum with Mybb and it was a nightmare.I don't see much wrong with it, other than with MyAlerts, but that's the most vital mod.
It depends on the theme and free mobile optimized themes are available on MyBB.comIt’s also not optimized well for mobile. I helped managed a forum with Mybb and it was a nightmare.
I don’t like the core software. It’s pure trash. The main theme should be fully optimized for mobile. It shouldn’t be up to theme designers to do something that the main developer should have created. It depends on the theme and free mobile optimized themes are available on MyBB.com
Proboards.
i was on Proboards for so many years. So easy to use and navigate without issues.I am not a fan of ProBoards.. seems very basic.
Well, as I said before, the MyAlerts stuff has gotten impossible. In that case, I wanted to use it originally for my Christian forum, but moved to phpBB.I don’t like the core software. Smf is way better and isn’t outdated, they’ve kept up with times. Mybb hasn’t.
