I just came in from spraying two of our greenhouses (only the peppers) with soap and neem oil. Then I picked raspberries. Wife is a much better picker than I am, but I have to try to contribute my share. Daughter-in-law came over on Tuesday and picked what she wanted. I think we must have 5 or 6 gallons of raspberries in the freezer, and the season is far from over. Wife picked the currants and serviceberries yesterday. I have some stuff to do in the garage and the main shed to start winter preparations. It is so much easier now when I don't have to work in the cold and dark, or heat the shed with the wood stove. I still have one greenhouse to spray, and maybe some peppers to pick. My wife does most of the harvesting since she is the one who does most of the canning, drying, and freezing.
When I was picking berries, I found that my rooster can speak at least one phrase in English. He kept saying "Shoot me, shoot me soon!" It used to sound like something else, but as the season is slowly coming to a close, his phraseology seems to have changed...or perhaps it is the way I am hearing it.
