Do you drive? What do you when your car is broken and needs to be fixed do you see a mechanic or fix your vehicle yourself?

I have some knowledge of fixing parts on my car and van vehicles I try and do the jobs that need doing myself to save myself some money.. I also learn a long the way.
Anything big like engines, turbos etc I will go and see a garage for the repairs.

@Smithy due to the fact that I live on a small farm, I do a lot of the simple repairs myself. although I am getting quite old, so crawling around on the floor or the ground is no longer easy for me. Luckily, our youngest son is a professional diesel mechanic, and, although he usually works on big machines, he will do the small stuff for me should I need it, such as brakes, steering, and such. Little engine work has been required so far, but he would do that in the winter when his professional work slows down. He and hos friend also have a small business repairing small engines, such as lawn mowers, ATVs, and snowmobiles.
