This device was covered under my Medicare advantage plan, and after reading about it and watching some YouTube videos, I got one last month. There are a lot of different ones available at all sorts of prices, and the one I got is a Merach Vibration Plate. It is square instead of oblong, which means i can stand on it in either direction.
Forward gives a side to side vibration, and if you stand facing sideways, then you get a front to back vibration. Both feel really different on my body.
In just using it for these few weeks, I can already feel a big difference.
Even after a 10 minute vibration, I can actually feel my circulation is much better, and at night i do one just sitting on a chair and putting my feet on the plate for 10 minutes before I go to bed.
Doing that has helped with my leg and foot swelling immensely ! Dr. Terry Wahls, the MS doctor, said she recommends this for all of her MS patients.

When I talked to my cardiologist about using it, he said it was a good thing and could help me. Since I have heart failure and a permanent pacemaker, I was concerned about whether it would be safe for me to use it, and wanted to ask my heart doctor before doing too much with it. Once I had his enthusiastic approval, I started using it every day.
My energy level is better now, too. I play music when I stand on the plate, and “dance” on the platform.
This is what mine looks like.

Here is the thread about the vibration plate, @Faye 2.0 . I have been using mine for just over a month now, and it really helps me. I discovered it online and watched some YouTube videos, and decided to try it and see if it helped with the leg and foot swelling, and it does.
I started out just sitting in my chair and putting my feet on it for 10 minutes, and that really makes my legs and feet feel better.

Now, I try to stand on it for 10 minutes 1-2 times each day, and you can feel it vibrating your whole body when you stand on it. Afterwards, I can literally feel my blood circulation faster and hotter in my legs, and somehow, it is also helping my balance. I even think that my head is clearer and I have more energy.
I have read that it helps with aches like arthritis, as well as helping brains drain clogging stuff when the lymph glands drain properly, so it can help with memory loss, too.

I am reading a book called Whole Body Vibration for Seniors that is free on Kindle Unlimited, and the author says that the vibration plate can actually help with memory problems. She said the vibration helps lymph to drain and when it drains from your brain, it takes out junk that has gotten stuck in there, so you can function better. She also says that the vibration helps stimulate serotonin and can elevate mood, and is much safer than using an anti-depressant like Prozac.
I am seldom depressed, but i do feel like I have more energy now. Of course, some of that is probably because spring is coming, and that always makes me happier.

When you posted the link to this thread I kind of halfheartedly skimmed over it because I wasn't feeling too well at that moment (There's a lot of those moments now days...) and meant to read it later. Then the bad memory kicks in...

When I first read it, just as I was thinking I couldn't stand on it for two minutes much less 10, I got to the part where you said you sat in a chair, and I thought "Now that I can do." So I looked it up on YouTube, and I will have to ask my new Doc about it. But as a musican, you know where my mind went when I watched some of those videos... 🤣

I sometimes stand on the vibration plate and sometimes I sit in my little chair and put my feet on it, so you can use it either way. I have seen videos where people are sitting on the vibration plate, or lying on the floor and propping their arms/hands on it , to get the vibration in their upper body.
There are a lot of the videos that are more suited for athletes (who are young and movable and balanced) and they do exercises on the vibration plate because it gives them a better workout.

For an older person, even just standing on it for a few minutes can help, but starting from a sitting position is a good way to start. Even when I stand on the vibration plate, I hang on to something for balance and support, and I do not try to do exercises on it.
Just the vibration is supposed to help drain your lymph glands, and strengthen your muscles as well as help bone density. It also seems to help with joint pain, but not always, so I imagine it depends on what the pain is caused by.

I found a usb charged shiatsu massage unit, and I really like it. I had one of those a long time ago, but it had to be plugged in, so you were limited as to where you could use it. This one is lightweight, portable, soft and cushy, and does a great job of massaging the back and neck. Since it charged with usb and runs on batteries, it can be used anywhere, at home or traveling.
I started it on ,y shoulders, and then let it slip slowly down my back, bit by bit, and felt really a wonderful on my back. I was worried that it might not be very strong since it is battery operated, but it was fine and has a really deep massage into your back muscles. It also heats up, and every minute or so, it reverses directions.

I'm glad Getty and Foxy can't hear you, they would love one, they love heat pad, Foxy is always trying to get Getty off hers.

I wonder if that would be good for our balance?

The vibration plate would very likely help your balance; it has really helped mine a lot ! First thing in the morning, it is still pretty wobbly, but otherwise, I am walking much better because the vibration plate helps the leg muscles to work better , plus the mild shaking makes them have to work when I am standing on the vibration plate.
I definitely think it is worth trying if you have balance issues. The vibration plate does not have any heat. You can stand on it and it vibrates and you feel it all the way up to your head. Not sure the dogs would like it or not, but Poodle does. When I sit and put my feet on the plate, he sits on it, too, and seems to like the vibration.

The usb shiatsu massager is not going to help balance, but it is great for sore muscles. Since it is usb, you can charge it up and use it anywhere, not just next to an electrical outlet.
I sat in my chair and put it behind my shoulder blades, let it knead my back for a while and then leaned forward so it would drop a little lower and knead further down.
Doing this, I worked it all the way down my back massaging both sides of my spine.

I needed this last week, when I either pulled a muscle real bad in my thighs or tore it. I'm still having trouble walking at times.
if you see some old kook doing 'squat's' telling you its good for seniors don't listen to her. Yvonne I may look into that ,right now truck is really costing us.
