According to the book "The Quote Verifier" by Ralph Keyes, that the quote has not been successfully traced.

If you like this sort of thing, it's an interesting read. You can find out who (supposedly) said all the things that are typically misattributed to someone else. For example, the phrase "A fool and his money are soon parted" has widely been to Benjamin Franklin, when it was (supposedly) based on a 1573 quote by Thomas Tusser, who died in 1580. Benjamin Franklin wasn't born until January of 1706.

Note: I say (supposedly) because nobody really knows what happened centuries ago.
