When I was a kid we had the radio and TV station with the callsign WOOD. They must have licensed it, because they used a version of "Woody" as TV station "mascot." Never speaking, squawking, goofy, or animated, just a few still images here and there.

I remember being in the 4th and 5th grade when I had to get up early to get the coal furnace going around 5 AM before getting everyone up and then trudging off to the school bus stop. At that time WOOD AM had the DJ "Buck Berry" on, who also hosted afternoon and Saturday morning kid's shows dressed as a cowboy. HE even had his horse in the studio on the Saturday show a few times.

Buck's early weekday show often featured interview guests. I remember one where he had the actor Whit Bissel on. I'm not sure why I remember that, but I think it was Whit who sang "Winchester Cathedral" in Vaudeville style, tinny megaphone and all.

I really must be getting old. The memory-cascades are getting bizarre, hmm?

You've never seen The Lion King? As Disney films go, it was actually quite good. My granddaughter loved it. She always wanted to watch it when she came to our house because Cindy's 50" TV was far bigger than hers. My stereo topped it off with good sound.

I'm already there, old that is. And I watched all those cartoons about birds just don't remember the one you mentioned.

Where's the Road Runner?
He's busy working for me, notifying me when I have New Mail or Calendar Reminders. :ROFLMAO:

I recorded two small audio files from this video clip:

For New Mail, I recorded the sound between 0:06 and 0:08

And for Calendar Reminders, I recorded between 0:18 and 0:23.

I cleaned up each recording to remove blunt start and endings. They work quite well.

And by the way, Being Old beats Being Dead. 🤙
