Criminals making big money with GoFundMe donations.

The GFM site is supposed to be a place where people can ask for help and other people can donate. So, if someone has terminal cancer and needs donations for medical treatment expenses, they can set up a GFM donation account and people can send them money to help out. This is a great idea, but now, it has turned into a money-making scam being used by criminals.

This started back several years ago, with the George Floyd arrest, where he died from the drugs he had ingested, but the police were blamed for his death anyway, and people donated thousands of dollars to his family.
Now, GFM has suddenly gone to the front of the news again, and will probably start a crime wave from people getting arrested just so they can get the money, or their family can.

The MS-13 terrorist , who was deported back to his home country, has a GFM, and it has raised over $200,000, and people are still donating. Recently, a person stabbed another person, killing him, at a school sports game, and the killer has a GFM that has come close to a million dollars .
He is now out on bail, his family just bought a new home in a gated community, a new Cadillac Escalade, and are getting Amazon orders of stuff every day (according to the neighbors). Before, they asked for a reduced bail because they didn’t have much money.
It is being painted as a race crime, and the killer is now the hero, not the victim’s family.

Another one is a guy who attacked police when they stopped him, and he was killed by police in self-defense. Even though he was a criminal, he is now designated as “a community leader”, and his family has a GFM and collecting money.
This seems to be where America is headed, and it is hard to imagine how these criminals are able to get so much money donated to them and their families just for killing people , or committing a crime, instead of people supporting the victims of the crime, which is what GFM is supposed to be helping.

The GFM website takes a commission for hosting the fundraiser, and I am not sure what their commission is; but the rest of the money goes to the designated recipient.
This has always been a really good way for people to get help when they do not have the money, I had a friend who had a stroke and needed a motorized wheelchair, and someone set up a GFM for him, and he was able to purchase the wheelchair; so used properly, it can really help people.

But now, it is being used to fund criminals and crimes, not to mention terrorists.
No one should be able to buy expensive homes and cars because they stabbed and killed a high school kid in a disagreement.
Now, when this killer goes to court, if he is found guilty, there will be all sorts of the riots and firebombing like there was for the criminal, George Floyd, a few years ago.
They will keep this in the news to keep people riled up about it.

The latest one for the teenager who stabbed and killed another boy is the most revolting so far or maybe not. It’s hard to choose.

My son raised money for a paralyzed friend to get a very expensive outdoor all terrain wheelchair on Go Fund Me. It was a wonderful thing for the girl it went to but that was several years ago. I don’t know if it could be done now since there have been so many grifters.

These parents asked for help with legal funds and have moved into an expensive house and bought a new car. If there is no money for an attorney for their criminal son, will they even care? I read that the family spokesman is a felon.

And what about the people who donated to defend a criminal who stabbed an unarmed boy to death? I hope they learn something but I doubt

This is another thing about the GFM donations, that they asked for help because they needed money for an attorney and to bail him out. The judge lowered the bail for them because of this and people contributed towards his legal fund.
Now, the family is spending the money for other things, like the house and new Cadillac, so it is not even likely that they will have money for a trial attorney, and will still be asking for even more contributions.
One does wonder how the people feel now, who were trying to help secure bail money and legal fees, and now it is being spent frivolously. there is nothing that says recipients have to use the money for what they said when they started the GFM , as far as i can see.
It is quite possible that this is being deliberately financed for some reason.
