Circulating pet water bowls

I was reading that sometimes cats and dogs do not drink their water if it does not smell fresh, and when it just sits in a bowl, it can stagnate. This would be similar to the water in a pond stagnating as opposed to the running water in a stream.
I am looking at the circulating water dispensers, and some of them are pretty pricy, but the smaller ones are affordable. I know that both dogs and cats will often ignore their bowl of water and go out and drink in a rain puddle in the yard instead, so I am thinking that it might be better for them to have circulating water.

Along the same lines, I have been reading about it is better for us to drink water that has been circulating, and they have special bottles called a hydrogen water bottle that circulates the water and adds more oxygen and hydrogen into the water as it circulates it.
Has anyone tried one of the circulating water bowls for their pets , and if so, what is your experience with it ?

The most high tech water dish I've had was one that I bought at Walmart for $2. It was just a small bowl with a threaded hole that you turn it upside down, screw a bottle of water (up to 2L) into and set down on the floor, and as your pet (we had a Ferret) drinks the water, fresh water is added to the bowl. It would only hold about 1 Cup of water, and our Ferret would drink enough of the water that it stayed pretty clean. It was easy to knock over, so after we filled the bottle, we strapped it to a table leg with a couple of velcro strips.

Edit: The ypos never end...

Maisie would turn that into a bubbling face bath, she likes to stick her snout into water bowls and blow the water out. She loves water, she needs a pool to play in.
Leo would chew it up, he chews up plastic and metal bowls, did I tell yall he is very neurotic and destructive as hell? He has his own yard, away from boat, van, truck lights bumper's, AC units, outside table and chairs, etc, etc, etc,.
