Thailand and Cambodia are fighting over borders. Both countries claim the other invaded them. Thailand is much more powerful than Cambodia, so it would make no sense for Cambodia to invade them.. Most likely Thailand invade to gain territory for some reason.

France has also declared that intend to recognize Palestine as an independent nation at the fall session of the UN General Assembly. Israel is quite upset about this. Perhaps Israel should declare Alsace to be an independent country in retaliation. France and Britain are largely responsible for the current state of affairs in the Middle East. Maybe France wants to go back to 1919 for a do-over, then follow that with a remake of 1948.

Don't forget the role of colonial conquest and exploitation in the state of SE Asia to this day. There is a reason why most people who came and settled America seldom gave a thought to being "European." Many escaped oppression "back home" as well. Some even got the bum's rush onto the boats because there just wasn't room for peasants any more as urbanization and factory farming grew.

Nobody remembers that the indentured servants were treated as badly as slaves were, but their servitude was somewhat voluntary and usually limited to seven years or so if they behaved well.
