Mamdani's victory in NYC seems to be coming to nothing. Bending to the exodus and threats of departure by the state's and city's wealthy, Governor Hockel has now come out and announced she will block Mamdani's proposed taxes on the rich, which she apparently has the power to do under the New York constitution. Without the and subsidies from the state and Federal governments, there is no way Mamdani can add billions to the NYC budget to give away free stuff. Angered Leftists have now determined to primary Hockel as well as Senator Schumer and any other Democrat officeholder that disagrees with their ideas. A Democrat "civil war" between the establishment Moderates and the you Leftist Radicals seems to be brewing. I suspect Mr. Trump will take full advantage of this, but time will tell.

Mamdani is the sort of petty despot that you get after decades of doling out free stuff in exchange for votes and power decade after decade. Any voter who seriously backed this guy is probably a lost cause to society anyway. They'll never fix themselves nor fade away and it is hard to think of any legal way to contain the blight. Giving in to their wastrel lifestyle is no longer affordable either.

Big cities are reaching critical mass.
