Metals, a Hedge or Investment Depending on Your Views... or a Sucker's Bet?

Today I looked over some of the 70s Eisenhower Dollar coins. While most of them in circulation were metal-clad coins (like dimes and quarters today, with no silver) some were produced in 40% silver like post-84 Kennedy Halves. Many were proof strikes, and originally released in proof coin sets...

Metals, a Hedge or Investment Depending on Your Views... or a Sucker's Bet?

In the wake of the Fed cut and announcement of "not QE" (wink, wink) gold and silver have made some moves. Gold in particular seems to have broken out of the recent pattern again.

    Small Jobs

Maybe Disney could open a new "It's A Small Job After All" attraction in its parks?

    Running Out Of Good Movies

Well we clearly have a couple of "horsey girls" here. This is one that my oldest sister would love. I'll have to pass the link on to her. Not a "western" in the vein of a John Wayne shoot-em-up or even a Gene Autry guitar-saddle-tramp-in-glitter. Fantasy, yet closer to realism and set later...

Making homemade syrup from your own trees .

I had mentioned peach tree sap above. Today I found this:

    What's your Weather like today

Cold here, mid-20s (F) and hard ice over nearly every bit of pavement. A little dicey getting to the pharmacy, but no serious traffic woes. About the same tomorrow, but after that we get cold.

    Fitness Trackers

I'm skeptical of their actual value, but what do I know? If they seem to do you some good then great.

Catastrophic flooding in Western Washington State.

These happen now and then. I think it's a pretty well-known thing that gets more attention under the new name nw. We've had them extend here before, both from the Pacific and the Gulf. It seems to involve a large amount of moisture that travels relatively high and then mostly drops a long way...

I was surprised to find out how scummy the Royal Canadian Mint is. They are not allowed by charter to produce coinage that isn't sold in Canada, but they use the loophole of putting a few on the market there and listing small mintages on their web site. The "scam coins" are private mintages of...

What are you doing right now?

Came inside after checking for mail. Wondering if the email I just deleted was really from SSA or had a scam link in it that I passed on clicking. I'll probably log on the usual way to see if there is anything new there.

I think that is about a month out of date. For example, air shipments of silver have stopped. That emergency has passed. I suppose we'll just have to see, but I expect the price of silver to plunge again soon and stay down for quite some time, as in years.

That doesn't really fit very well with other things we know. The LBMA got caught with its pants down last Summer, not having enough physical metal on hand to meet demand from India. India took it there because they already owned a lot of LBMA paper and asked for physical delivery. London banks...

Metals, a Hedge or Investment Depending on Your Views... or a Sucker's Bet?

Yeah, Biden's stunt to attack Russia through SWIFT was a ridiculous error. But I'm not sure he was actually in control of that or even conscious of any of it. Instead it sounds like the action of his EU-UK puppet masters. I try not to post many of these videos, but the goofy guy offers a nice...

    What's your Weather like today

Cleaned off 2 more inches and got the snowplow mess as well. Cooling down now, so I'm glad I got to it before things turn to stone. Supposed to be a very cold weekend coming up. Won't be slushy-sloppy any more for a while now.

What do you do if you feel tired?

Well first I check my blood sugar, but I have cause for that. However I can usually detect that if it comes on, the feeling isn't simply one of being tired. If that's ok I'll just take a nap. Being old and retired that's usually a practical option. Yet often the answer is to get up and start...

    What's your Weather like today

Right around freezing. Got 3 more inches of snow but heavy, slushy stuff. Cleared that, probably will rain a bit later on. Then things will probably cool way down again before we get more snow this weekend.

    Last thing you bought

$12 gift: Illuminated hand/stand magnifier, about a 4 inch big lens and a small high-power lens for looking at fine detail. Great for reading labels on stuff. Or I suppose examination of fine details on your gold coins. :ROFLMAO:
