Yeah, we don't get much direct sunlight now. Of course your days are far shorter this time of year. Today was a pretty rainy, low-light day so my lights only came on for a short time. Bizarrely warn now, but flash-freeze incoming as "normal" returns overnight.

    Favourite brand of car

I've owned Fords, Chryslers, and Toyotas. But I kept coming back to Hondas. I haven't had chronic issues, expensive repairs, or reliability issues. One of them even had its right-front quarter driven over by a drunk semi tractor driver in a parking lot once... and I was able to drive it home...

Though I am taxed for street lights, there isn't one near my house and the closest one is almost completely blocked by a tree except in Winter months. As a result, things are black as pitch on my end of the street all the way to the corner where there is a light at the intersection. Grr. But I...

    "Meals", cooked by you.

Nothing ambitious. Pot Roast, some potatoes and carrots and onions. Nice beefy gravy. Steamed broccoli.

Slightly off the main track here, but... My solar-powered under-hedge lighting and Christmas lights are looking great. I've been getting enough daylight so they run for several hours after dark. I'm really enjoying the salvaged/repurposed "worn out" under-hedge lights that I replaced earlier...

It appears Valero and Chevron are leaving California

California has so many problems. People there should have caught on earlier, but I think it might be too late now to avoid some sort of ugly collapse before things can turn around for them. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Metals, a Hedge or Investment Depending on Your Views... or a Sucker's Bet?

I check online dealers to see what kinds of stuff is out there on the market. Sometimes I get a good laugh. Here's a sale item: It just hit me funny. Made me think of small cans of tomato paste or something on sale.

Metals, a Hedge or Investment Depending on Your Views... or a Sucker's Bet?

Dealers are really beginning to vacillate between exhilaration and alarm. Gold, silver, platinum are all up and appear to be on another tear. Lots of people are coming out of the woodwork and dumping large quantities of silver on them, but quite a few people are also buying a lot and refineries...

    Anyone Trying Out "Alexa+" Service?

Well I decided to try a test. Yep, it builds a profile of you. I asked A+ how old I was. It admitted it doesn't know my birthdate, but asked if I wanted to share that. Er, nope. However I've asked a lot of random questions about random things. That response was followed up with "Remember, I'm...

What are you doing right now?

Got up and went into the lab for a blood draw. Almost hit the grocery store, but it wasn't open yet. Headed home and sat around waiting on the mail lady - package needing a signature was incoming. Now dealing with recordkeeping related to the mail.

Has anyone here been affected by tariffs?

I doubt it was about competition. Once globalism bled industrial America carrion-eaters were quick to swoop in and gorge themselves. The greatest numbers of them had never been importers, wholesalers, distributors, or retailers before. They bring in Chinese products for pennies, mark that up...

Has anyone here been affected by tariffs?

Well, it wasn't just Costco and Walmart who knifed Americans in the back importing cheap outsourced products. Lower on the retail chain you had multi-level pyramids of smaller Benedict Arnold importers. That's where the real whining comes from, mostly on the coasts.
