What's your Weather like today

Soggy outside, not so much from additional rain but a super-heavy dew because we fell to 60F overnight. Partly sunny for now, so I have 3 sets of solar panels and "power buckets" out there to fill as the sun rises far enough to reach over the trees to my east.

Those are my best hours, since the heat doesn't set in until later and once the sun gets much past Noon I am too shaded to the west and south to collect much power.

We expect a high of 82F by afternoon, as well as more rain or even thundershowers. Tomorrow looks like a similar pattern, but reaching 92F. Sunday 94F or higher, beating down all day and staying warm over night. Monday about the same.

One area I reseeded with shade-tolerant grass is loving this weather. Very encouraging. Another area I did the same but I'm not seeing sprouting even begin! The overhanging trees are much larger there with denser leaves, so until recently little rain was reaching the ground. I should have been watering, though I did that a few years back in the same area and it only got me minor growth before it all died back and mosses took over.

Still 72F over night, expected to hit 91F with high humidity. Thunderstorms to my north right now, more and heavier even further north. I might miss most of them but later all bets are off right now.

No idea what to expect besides heat. Might end up sunny here much of the day, might not.

Happy Summer Solstice! It is something of a holiday here, and I always remark that it is the beginning of the long, slow slide into winter:)

We always try to grill outside on both solstices--summer and winter. We had dinner on the deck last evening to celebrate.

As of yesterday, it was supposed to rain today and tomorrow, but that has been taken off the table for now. Highs in the upper 60s F. and low 70s F. now with intermittent sun. The interior of the state is on fire due mostly to lightning strikes. Lows in the upper 50s F.

Supposed to only reach 91F today. Well, so much for that!

Around 95 outside right now and more humid to boot. If we don't get any rain or storms from the front headed this way maybe we'll at least see a cooler night out of it.

Just took a peak at the weather radar and wow, just 20 miles or so south of me a light "river" of rainfall, some quite heavy, is training along. Maybe mainly "pop up" rain, but it is running in a curved line.

Meanwhile here we're still only partly cloudy with some hot sun between those clouds.

Went back out to check on solar faming, wash down the panels to remove accumulated dust. Still a lot of sun between the clouds, but more clouds now and thunder crashing to my south audibly.

Called it quits, I'd topped up several buckets for a second time today and a few more halfway. Storm still holding off, but at least after getting the solar gear inside I remembered I had the car windows open!

No rush as it turned out. The line of rain and thunder is staying to my south. But I was done with time in the sun today anyhow. As it is, they're saying to stay indoors. Even so, I'd be fine sitting in a chair in my abundant shade. It's lugging weight in the sun and moving cables and such that gets me sweating, and then coming in to mop off and cool down is welcome.

So we got some decent rain over night, not a ton but a useful amount on top of yesterday's.

More coming here later too, but I see that the first part of the day has been "upgraded" to a scorcher again. 😜
