We had a light drizzle last night and I almost took out my new garage door from glare ice on the driveway! Be careful. Here’s the weather for today in Cheshire, England (UK):
Today’s conditions:
- It will be generally cloudy and cool, with temperatures around 5–8 °C this afternoon. Weather Crave
- There may be overcast skies with occasional light drizzle or showers in parts of the day. Weather Crave
- Wind speeds could be moderate, making it feel a bit chillier than the air temperature. Weather Crave
Temperature:
- High: ~8 °C
- Low (tonight): ~6 °C (getting cloudy later) Weather Crave
Overall: Mostly cloudy with limited sunshine and a chance of light rain/drizzle at times, typical for this time of year in your area.
Kind of you to translate into F.39F sunny BUT a strong Easterly wind.
I have just decided I like Global Warming. Sadly it has become climate change just after I decided that.
Kind of you to translate into F.![]()
My garlic is up and growing! It is so confused. We are at 64F right now, and supposed to be in the 70’s over the weekend, and then really taking a big drop my Monday or so. I like the warmer weather, and we have even been able to leave heat off and open the doors during the warmer part of the day.
You and I are on the same track. We won't get the "bomb cyclone" at all (warning Will Robinson!!!) But our warm December is over with cold (not horrible below zero cold) and snow coming in. I still have hopes of winter being over by March.Solid gloom here, sort of a thin fog in the air. Very light snow dusting much earlier, but now just above freezing. Not really damp, not dry.
Looks like we have expectation of a "bomb cyclone" coming over the next few days though. I'm South of the worst of this. We'll probably get rain, fast temperature drop, and then some Lake Effect snow. But to the North it sounds like blizzards and ice storms and very high winds.
As it passes to my East, Ontario will probably have levels of icing sure to cause widespread power outages. Maybe feet of snow in heavy Lake Effect regions like Buffalo, NY.
So rapid and intense. We'll just have to await its actual storm track as the system develops over the next 2 days.
