What are you listening to right now?

Running out of good rock these days...
It depends on your taste in music, and when you start considering what is good rock. Personally, I can go back to the 1920s. Rock is based on Blues in many cases, a lot of which comes from the cotton fields in the 1920s and 1930s. My mom used to sing while she did household chores, and I was often close by listening to her.

Now, 50 plus years later, I'm still a dedicated Blues Rocker.

I like lots of songs from different eras, signers and types. I too grew up with a mother singing and playing piano.

YouTube is getting senile, it just [;ayed a song I listened to an hour AGO. If I was not close to it, it would [play different songs, now it plays some I played just a couple hours ago!

Oddly enough, my Mom was the only one in our family that didn't play any instruments. My Dad played guitar, my two sisters played piano, my brother played bass, and my nephew was a drummer. He took mock offense to my drummer jokes, but always replied in kind with guitar player jokes. I wanted him to join my band, but he got hitched right after high school and his wife said "Forget it, Mister."

I too have very broad tastes in music. My favorite is Blues Rock, but I also like a little of everything. Even some Country Rock. We shocked our daughter when Cindy and I took her to see Collin Raye for her 18th birthday. His band played at a Cabaret at the Bear River Casino in Ferndale. I had to smile from ear to ear when she said "So this is a Cabaret? I always wondered about the places you used to play." She was comparing my band and I to a national recording artist, but she didn't know that Cabarets are where local to "not so famous anymore" bands play. 🎸

John Prine's birthday today.

I'm all for our troops and vets, not so much for most wars the 'leaders' create. visited injured vets in the 70s 80s.
One in my family still on meds and bad health, other on VA meds, after two tours shot both times, shot himself.
