Last thing you bought

I bought a 'weed eater' on amazon. I kind of felt it would not work as there are a lot of them listed. I bought one that was a bit more expensive, it had a few good reviews but looked like all the cheaper ones. I was very cheaply made when I opened it but I put it together and tried it out. This is not a string trimmer. It came with blades for tougher grass and small shrubs. Worthless after less than one minute. So I am returning it...a process that requires someone be home for pick up for three possible days. It will be interesting to see if return is successful

I suspect that they do, but I don't have the equipment to test that myself.

However I've been able to test a larger pouch thing for my car keyfob, and the car cannot detect it when I have the fob inside.

My Enhanced Driver's License cards have always come with these sleeves. If they were just a placebo I'd think somebody would have made a stink by now.
 
Ran out early before the workday crowds and snagged a cart of groceries. Wow, don't think I have ever spent that much.

I got some butcher-made patties of mixed ground beef and pork. I guess they are stretching the beef supply, but it was cheaper than the usual all-beef.

Oddly, no fermented pickles this time. Only "foundry pickles" not as good for you. Loaded up on greens, hoping for those eye-lens friendly antioxidants.
 
Trying to up my mulching game. Using the mower has always been a clumsy process with lots of stalling and dust dealing with Autumn leaves.

These basically whip around heavy "string trimmer" strings as the leaves and twigs drop through the "barrel" then down into a sack. Too bad they aren't tall enough so the mulch can drop right down into those paper leaf bags I have to put out on the curb.

I can use a solar power station on a luggage cart to power it anywhere in the yard. I'll need the cart because at 13 amps my little guys won't be up to the task.
 
In the wake of Rite-Aid closures we've had a couple of Dollar Tree stores take over the buildings.

For the first time today I stopped in to check one out while I was already out and about. Not impressed.

Mostly junk in small sizes and quantities. I have no expectation I could find the same product there on two different visits. Crappy thin gloves in "one size fits none" etc. Skeezy mini Halloween decorations and even some Christmas ones out already. Super lightweight hand tools that probably break on first use. About the only potentially useful items were mailing supplies such as plastic padded envelopes.

Ok, maybe that's harsh, but egad! Odd clientele as well including 20-something guys with painted fingernails and weird long asymmetric haircuts.
 
Got some Sheffield "field boxes" for storage.

These have interlocking stacking for stability, even the smaller size nests securely atop the larger as required. Multiple lock-points to secure contents (e.g. ammunition or that stack of gold coins :ROFLMAO:). The base is a deep, solid "tub" of thick hard plastic, and the fold over hinged lids have soft gasket liners around the edge to help exclude moisture. Molded feet help elevate on a surface as well as for interlocked stacking.

These come in all sorts of colors from more "masculine military" shades to bright colors for the sewing room.

When empty, the smaller size can store inside the larger size.

I used to love our Dollar Store. Not Dollar Tree although now I think they are basically the same. Everything was actually one dollar! I could go in for holiday decorations, surprise boxes for the grand kids, greeting cards, paper plates....It was great. They raised price to $1.25 for a while. Now you have to check each item for prices and most items are not worth it.
 
The last thing I bought was food for tea tonight from the store :)
