We are almost to another month, and then we can leave the April showers and have May flowers. However, we have already had lots of our flowers blooming. The irises are in bloom, as well as the peony, and all of the roses are blooming now, too.

You know what May showers bring?

June brides. You can groan now. :)

Happy weekend, everyone :) I hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

We are celebrating my birthday this weekend as my birthday is on Tuesday and going to be difficult to celebrate on that day due to everyone's schedule.

Have a good one, @Shortie!

You ever get "False Springs"? One year when we lived in Eureka, the weather kept changing at odd times, and the flowers reacted to that. We had a huge Rhododendron bush (aka a Rhody) in our front yard and it bloomed five times that year. The Rhody Parade had tons of flowers that year.

I can't remember what year that was, and these photos are from 2024.

We have had those false springs happen here, too, @Axel Slingerland . Unfortunately, they after happen way too early, like in January or February, and plants start budding out and then get frozen as soon as we go back to winter weather.
If we just have an early spring and no freezes afterwards, which we seem to be doing fine with this year, then the flowers can just go ahead and bloom early. My peony was in bloom in April, and usually they blossom in May.

We have been having a mixture of nice sunny days, and then more days of cold and rain. The swimming pool is still way too cold to even think of using it; but on the sunny days, we can go outside and work in the yard and garden, and that is nice.

For Eureka, I always say there are only two seasons, Summer and Wetter. And usually at the end of march, the rain backs off and the sun come out. But that year, the rain stopped and the flowers bloomed in January. Then it got cold again and the rain came back, and when it stopped, the flowers bloomed again. Over and over, five times. By April, the traditional time for the Rhody Parade, the Rhody's had already bloomed three times.

Good evening everyone and happy Friday Eve :)

I am dealing with arm pain at the moment in my right arm, muscle pain is the biggest issue after an injury. I have no idea how I got it. Hoping it heals soon so taking it easy and doing things as I can.

Have a great rest of your Thursday everyone :)
