He Actually Has A Plan

I find it interesting that Donald Trump ran as a Businessman for President. With a success rate of just 33.33%*, Forbes, one of the leading Business magazines, says that's good. I say that's nonsense. If you go and apply for a job, and you have done poorly at 66.66% of your previous employment, what do you think your chances of being hired would be? I wouldn't hire you. And I didn't vote for Trump either.

The Forbes article has an interesting quote from the New York Times.
Of the roughly 60 endeavors started or promoted by Mr. Trump during the period analyzed, The Times found few that went off without a hitch. One-third of them either never got off the ground or soon petered out.

Another third delivered a measure of what was promised — buildings were built, courses taught, a product introduced — but they also encountered substantial problems, like lawsuits, government investigations, partnership woes or market downturns.

The remaining third, while sometimes encountering strife, generally met expectations — notably the television show “The Apprentice” and the purchases of numerous golf courses, including properties near Philadelphia and in the Hudson Valley.

List of presidents of the United States by education

Most presidents of the United States received a college education, even most of the earliest. Of the first seven presidents, five were college graduates. College degrees have set the presidents apart from the general population, and presidents have held degrees even though it was quite rare and unnecessary for practicing most occupations, including law. Of the 45 individuals to have been the president, 24 graduated from a private undergraduate college, 9 graduated from a public undergraduate college, and 12 held no degree. Every president since 1953 has had a bachelor's degree, reflecting the increasing importance of higher education in the United States. READ MORE

And as usual I see a lot of people with very wild imaginations. Some of the stuff they come up with should get the Comedy Bit of the Year Award. This is a key reason why very little gets done in DC. Too many idiots fighting over stupid partisan ideology.

Very good point. They need to stop discussing their differences and actually do some work beneficial to our country.

Interesting piece of information. The U.S. produces significantly more corn, wheat, and soybeans than it could possibly consume domestically, leading to a large surplus for exports. If foreign countries start buying from other producers, like soybeans from Brazil, because of the tariffs, some farmers will be in trouble. The US may have to use some of the tariff tax money to bail the farmers out again, like they did because of tariffs in the first Trump administration. At least the price of wheat, corn, and soybeans should come down inside the US. :)

The US has some ag production policy problems anyway.

Overproduction fueling exports only seems to be benefitting holding companies and Wall Street. The environmental impacts and land use problems feel like we are letting shifty firewood salesmen strip our homes underneath us for their profit.

If a fat farmer can only have his spoiled kid drive two monster tractors in competition games instead of three this year, boo hoo.

I was surprised to see Gretchen Whitmer, our Governor, finally agree on the tariffs and meet with Trump this week.

She's a Democrat, so that's pretty big. Of course she probably has electoral motives on her own behalf, but still. Of course the Party mob has gone after her. :ROFLMAO:

Governor Whitmer did not look very happy to be there, at all. Apparently, she was not expecting to be called into the meeting, but did not really have any choice. Since she is a Democrat, being praised by President Trump is not going to help her popularity with her own political party; but she has no real choice except to want a better economy for Michigan.

All politicians love photo-ops, when they go their way.....but when they kick back, not much.

I thought I'd seen her speaking in support of the tariffs, but now I can't locate the video. Oh well, I guess I must have dreamed it.
She was in the building to meet with the President along with a Michigan Congressman to discuss Michigan's business. While there she was invited into the Oval Office, and ended up in the tariff's headlights. I don't think it was scheduled. Something to that effect.

What I have seen in the clips, is that she pretty much has to agree that she wants more manufacturing done in Michigan, and she had a speech that she read, although not very well, from the part I watched. I wondered who wrote it for her, and if she had read it before she had to say it publicly. So, you actually did see her say that she was in support of tariffs, @Jacob Petersheim .
