Fur, fin, feathers, and flowers

indigo bunting Not a very good picture but it was the first one I ever saw at my feeder. I didn't want to waste time focusing. He was only there for a few minutes.

Here is my FUR baby napping in front of the door in the sunshine and then chillin' in one of his trees. Such a spoiled kitty!

* I'm not sure if this belongs in this section or the Animal and Pet section. I'm confused where to post things sometimes.*

This is my furry acrobatic friend.

I know that some people dislike them and call them tree rats. I can see that that would be a problem in towns where there are no predators to keep them in check. I only see one or two at a time. They live in the woods behind my house. Hawks also live there. The hawks and other predators keep the population down.

I enjoy seeing their antics. If a loud sound startles them, they scamper up to a tree limb and flatten themselves down. They are so well camouflaged that you could walk right by them and never see them.

Those are my favorite birds! We see very few. What food items draw them?

I buy Nuts N Berries bird food. I don't know what indigo buntings like best. I've only seen a few of them at my feeder over the years,

Birds from way up north come to Lake Mattamuskeet to spend the winter. They come by the thousands. The tundra swans come from the tundra.
