In my school days I did a lot of training. I wanted to be in "shape" for baseball. There was a period where I was in 3 different Baseball leagues. I remember just before going to sleep at night, I would take out 2 "sponge balls" from my nightstand draw, and with one in each hand, squeeze them 100 times. I read that was an exercise Joe DiMaggio did to strengthen the wrist.

In my working years, I exercised both at work and at home using Dynamic Tension techniques, used in the Charles Atlas exercise course. Remember the skinny kid on the beach who had the sand kicked on him? That was the Charles Atlas ad, I met his brother at my Uncles house, and to my surprise, I found out I was a distant cousin. He sent me the course. The exercises didn't require any equipment. They could be done anywhere, even at work. I actually received the course when I was 12 years old and used those exercises since then. Today, at 81 years old, I don't do heavy exercise, I will occasionally do some arm exercises to keep them in tone.

I'm a firm believer in the " use it or lose it "motto. If I don't stay busy as much as I can, I feel bad, both physically and mentally.

I set up our Wii Game a couple of weeks ago. A week ago, wife and I bowled three games and she won two of them. Played 3-Hole Golf and I done better than her, but she's coming along. And, last, we played two games of tennis and I beat her both times. We play for an hour and a half and we felt it (LOL). But, it sure was fun!

Now that we are going into the very hot days of summer here, we can't do much outdoors, so it will be the Wii Game in the living room with the A/C running.
