Is anyone watching the Big Bear Bald eagle cam?
I look in several times a day. There was a terrible storm yesterday. The wind was whipping, and the nest was swinging wildly. Then there was a blizzard. It looks like they had 7 or 8 inches of snow. It looks like it's still snowing a little bit. I'm amazed that any of them survive. -

That's a beautiful bird, Tony. I'd like to see one at my feeder. My cardinals keep looking for food at my feeder. I am sooo tempted to buy more food and feed them all summer. But the food I buy costs around $25 per bag for a 14-pound bag. I can't afford to feed them year-round. The other... -
What's your Weather like today
Raining all day and unusually cold. I had to turn my heat on. I don't think I've ever had to do that this late in May. -
Bird watching
I just filled my feeder for the last time until next fall. I figure if I feed them during the winter when food is not available, they can find food for themselves during the summer. :giggle: -

A camping story.... My brother and SIl bought a tent that slept four. Nice tent, expensive. But not being tent people, hubby and I rented a room at the motel. That night, the rain poured down, the wind blew, the rain ran into the tent. After that, they rented a room, too. I don't know what... -

Stormy here right now. Not too bad and we need the rain. -
Beach Or Mountains?
I enjoy both our NC beaches and mountains. If I was rich, I'd have a little log cabin built on a mountainside and a small cottage on the beach. If I had to choose, I'd choose our Great Smoky Mountains in the fall. -

Right now, it's 56º and looking out the window, it looks warm. But the air has a chill to it. I went out to fill the bird feeder thinking it was warm. It was cold! -

I enjoy the North Carolina beaches but for sheer beauty nothing beats the Smokey Mountains in the fall. -
Do you prefer the winter or summer months?
I like all four seasons. If I have a choice, I'll pick fall. I like the cool, crisp mornings then the warm sunshine later in the day. The morning mist hanging over the ponds, rivers and lakes. The smell leaves burning in the distance. The faint smell of chimney fire from fireplaces. -
Tornadoes have hit in major states
We had a lot of rain but not much wind. I did see some lightening and hear some thunder just after midnight, but it was in the distance. -
